Drystone Sculpture
Dry-stone sculptures are probably the area of my work that give me the greatest satisfaction and excite me the most. It is startling what dry built stone can be persuaded to do, and it is also surprising how subtle and precise the surfaces and textures of such a rugged construction can be.
Nearly all my sculptures are private commissions, and I like to work closely with my client while we decide on a suitable position for the piece, its size and the material from which it will be made. I often like to pick a slightly hidden or unexpected site, and I am happy for the design to gradually evolve, even during construction.
